Masters present unique opportunities to assist courts and parties in moving cases along in an expeditious, efficient and cost effective manner. Masters are particularly helpful in complex cases involving multiple parties, multiple districts, multiple issues, or multiple claimants (i.e. class action).

Using masters to review documents for privilege and make recommendations on objections to document production, interrogatories and deposition-related matters can eliminate issues requiring judicial review and focus issues ultimately presented for judicial review. Masters also work with parties to create case management orders tailored to the specific case so that the case progresses in a timely and orderly fashion that can lessen the need for judicial intervention and oversight.
